Privacy Browser PC 0.9 was released on 25 April 2026. This release contains a number of small changes which polish Privacy Browser and make it more enjoyable to use.
JavaScript can now copy text to the keyboard with user interaction (it cannot read text from the clipboard). For example, this now allows a user to copy a link from Nextcloud’s sharing menu.

A bug was fixed that caused the URL to not be populated for slowly loading websites if the tab was switched while it was loading.
The bookmark folders are no longer auto-expanded when opening the Bookmarks Dialog, and the scroll position in the dialog is maintained when moving bookmarks. This improves the experience when there are a large number of bookmarks.
The URL syntax is no longer highlighted when there is no protocol present. Previously, it could be highlighted in incorrect ways.

New tabs are now opened next to the current tab. The text in the Requests Dialog is now non-editable. The Domain Settings Dialog is now wider by default to prevent the need to scroll horizontally on some screens. Filter list applied entries are now separated by four spaces instead of an asterisk to improve readability. A bug was fixed that had caused some generichide allow filters to whitelist every request for an entire site.

generichide filters would play out.WebSocket support has been added to the filter lists (this required Qt WebEngine >= 6.4). All prefetch, preload, and CSP requests are now blocked. The padding around the blocked requests tracker has been increased.

The allowed request color highlighting has been improved. Previously it displayed a confusing mixture of green and red highlighting.

The developer console defaults to taking the bottom half of the screen again when it opens. This was the way it worked previously, but the transition to Qt 6 made it open with no height, just a small bar that needed to be dragged up each time.

The zoom factor is now displayed correctly when it is changed by CTRL-Scrolling. Fanboy’s Annoyance List’s license is now correctly listed as Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported.
It is expected that the next release will include a forward and back history. Privacy Browser PC has gone far too long without that feature.
